Dr. McHugh was born and raised in southern Ohio. She attended Penn State University for her undergraduate studies, where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. She earned her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where she graduated as valedictorian of her class. She then went on to complete her Pediatric Residency at Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
Dr. McHugh and her husband, Matt, currently have two young children, Brooks and Emery, with hopes for additional little ones down the line. Within medicine, she particularly enjoys the areas of development as well as allergies and asthma. In her free time, she enjoys watching her Nittany Lions play on Saturday, hiking, biking, photography and interior design. Dr. McHugh loves getting to know her patients and families and considers them an extension of her own family
