Dr. Setzer grew up in Camp Hill, was a patient of JDC as a child, and graduated from Camp Hill High School. She went to Washington and Lee University in Virginia, graduating summa cum laude with honors in biology and philosophy. She was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and spent a year working in Germany and Switzerland. She then attended University of Virginia School of Medicine. After completing her residency at Shands Hospital in Gainesville FL, Dr. Setzer returned to the area to be near her family and to work with JDC Pediatrics. Even as a child, Dr. Setzer was inspired to become a pediatrician by her love of children and medicine and the great role models at JDC.
Dr. Setzer is married to Dr. W. Scott Setzer, a family physician. They have two boys and two dogs. Her hobbies include sports and hiking with her family, dancing, and reading.
