Participating Health Insurance Plans

Below is a list of the insurances with which we participate.  Please have your card with you at the time of your visit. If we file your claim, you are responsible for only the co-pay at the time of visit. If we are not a provider for your insurance, if you are not insured, or we do not file with your insurance company, you may be responsible for the entire charge at the time of service:

  • Aetna (but not Aetna Better Health)
  • Highmark Blue Shield (but not plans purchased through the government Marketplace)
  • Capital Blue Cross (but not Keystone Health Plan)
  • Intergroup
  • Wellspan
  • UPMC (but not UPMC for You or UPMC for Kids)
    • The following plans under UPMC Health Plan will be accepted:
           Premium Network
           Enhanced Access Network
           UPMC Employees Advantage Network
UPMC Employees Out of Area Network
           FEHB Employees
           UPMC Inside Advantage
           MyCare Advantage PPO/EPO
Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot accept newborns or new patients on any of the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) programs.
For existing patients only, JDC Pediatrics participates with the CHIP plan offered through Highmark Blue Shield.

Please note: All new and existing patients MUST disclose to our office if your child has coverage through ANY of the PA medical assistance plans, even if it is a secondary plan. We are obligated by law as a practice to apply this coverage if your child has it. Therefore, withholding information on your insurance coverage is grounds for dismissal from the practice.

If your child has no health insurance coverage, you can go to Pennsylvania's Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to see if you qualify for CHIP, Pennsylvania’s program to provide health insurance to uninsured children and teens. There you can find information on providers participating with this insurance.

Medicaid and CHIP patients please note: As of April 1, 2023, changes to federal law mean that you MUST renew your coverage every year or risk losing your coverage. You will not lose your state health coverage without a chance to complete a renewal or update your information. When you complete your renewal, if you are no longer eligible for Medicaid or CHIP, you will automatically get connected to low- or no-cost health coverage so you can choose another health plan that's right for you.
Take these steps right now to make your renewal easier:
-Update your contact information with the Department of Human Services. Having the correct address makes it easier to send you timely information in the mail.
-Sign up for email and text alerts so you get important information about your health coverage and your renewal.
-Check your renewal date then complete your renewal on time so that you do not risk your coverage.
You can do all these things by:
-Going online to www.dhs.pa.gov/COMPASS
-Using the free myCOMPASS PA Mobile App
-Calling 1-866-550-4355
Complete your renewal and stay covered!
