Mario M. Sangillo
Dr. Sangillo grew up in Cherry Hill, N.J. He attended Fairfield University in Connecticut where he earned a BS cum laude in biology. He attended Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine where he met his wife Cathy. He began his pediatric residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago where he received the "Pediatric Intern of the Year" award for meritorious service.
Wishing to be closer to his family, they moved to Pennsylvania and joined residency programs at Hershey Medical Center. There he completed his pediatric training and Cathy did a family medicine residency. Dr. Jones convinced him to join their then 3-doctor pediatric practice. He has been a welcome addition since 1982.
Dr. Sangillo retired on August 30, 2019 after 37 years of serving his young patients at JDC Pediatrics. He will enjoy being able to spend more time with his wife (who has retired also), children, and grandchildren, and is looking forward to spending some time in the great outdoors. He also is very interested in the environment and the danger of climate change, and hopes to be able to help in promoting education and policy action in this area.
